Why Fence Contractors Should Use Custom Trailers

Blog

Custom trailers are great for many different types of contractors, since they allow you to control the size, security features, and special add-ons for the trailer to suit your needs. As a fence contractor, there are quite a few benefits to consider. Instead of struggling with stock trailers that never seem to work the way they want you to, consider some of these benefits of getting a custom trailer.

You Can Choose the Size That Works Best For You

One of the biggest reasons to have a custom trailer made is because you can control the overall size and shape. When you are putting up new fences, you know that sometimes there are narrow spaces where your trailer needs to fit, but the stock trailers just don't work right. Instead of having to park the trailer further away and carrying those heavy fencing materials, why not order a custom trailer that is open, long, and narrow to fit your fence materials and tools, but also get a little closer to the area of the fence installation?

There Are Different Storage Options

With custom trailers, you can also choose the overall layout of the trailer. For example, you might want the main part of the trailer to be flat and open, large enough to hold your wood planks or metal fence posts. However, you might have smaller items that also need to be stored on the trailer. For these smaller tools and materials, you can have a closed storage box built onto the front of the trailer where the items can be placed. They won't move around or fall off the trailer, but the rest of the flat end of the trailer is open for larger materials.

A Ramp Can Be Added

As a fence contractor, you deal with a lot of bulky and heavy materials in order to install the fences. This is especially true when you install metal and steel fences, as they can be very heavy. The last thing you want to do is have to lift them off the trailer and onto the ground for installation. A better option is to have a custom trailer built that is not only the size you want, but that has a ramp built onto the back end so that you can slide the materials down the ramp, or walk down the ramp with the materials. It makes the job a lot easier.

Don't forget you can also choose the type of latch or security locks on the trailer, and choose either an open or closed trailer according to your specific needs.
